About this dish

Empanadas are delicious filled turnovers originating from Latin America. Their crust is usually made of a thin, crispy pastry based on wheat or corn flour. The filling varies by region and taste: ground meat, chicken, cheese, vegetables, or even seafood, often seasoned with spices like cumin or paprika. They can be fried or baked, and are served hot, often accompanied by a sauce or a dip. Small or large, empanadas are eaten as a snack, a starter, or a main course during celebrations or everyday meals. Their preparation is an art and a tradition in many Spanish-speaking countries, where everyone claims their own unique and delicious recipe.
