Ingredients

  • 800 g beef
  • 25 g brown sugar
  • 1 pinch(es) white pepper
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 0.5 Asian pear(s)
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 3 clove(s) garlic
  • 3 stalk(s) spring onion

Instructions

Preparing the ingredients:

  1. 1Peel and blend the Asian pear until puréed.
  2. 2Finely chop the garlic cloves and the spring onion stalks.
  3. 3Slice the beef into thin slices.

Preparing the marinated meat:

  1. 4In a large bowl, mix the brown sugar, white pepper, sesame oil, mirin, and honey.
  2. 5Add the pear purée, soy sauce, garlic, and spring onion stalks.
  3. 6Mix all the ingredients well.
  4. 7Add the beef slices.
  5. 8Mix well to coat the meat with the marinade.
  6. 9Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, ideally 1 to 2 hours.

Cooking the bulgogi:

  1. 10Heat a large pan or wok over high heat.
  2. 11Add the meat and stir-fry, stirring regularly, until nicely browned and fully cooked, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. 12Serve the beef bulgogi hot, with rice and sautéed vegetables.
