About this dish

Tzatziki is a refreshing sauce or dip of Greek origin, iconic in Mediterranean cuisine. It's made from thick yogurt (often Greek yogurt), grated cucumber, crushed garlic, olive oil, and sometimes dill or mint. After being grated, the cucumbers are usually pressed to remove excess water, ensuring a creamy consistency for the tzatziki. The garlic adds a pungent touch, while the fresh herbs give it an aromatic flavor. Served cold, tzatziki is ideal as a dip for pita bread, as an accompanying sauce for grilled meats or meatballs, or as a refreshing element in sandwiches and wraps. Its freshness and lightness make it perfect for hot summer days, and it's often found on mezze platters and festive meals.
