Ingredients
- 4 endive(s)
- chicken stock
- 1 lemon(s)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 30 g unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- salt
- pepper
- 4 slice(s) ham
- 100 g grated Gruyère
- 400 g béchamel
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- 2Remove any damaged leaves from the endives and trim a little off the end to remove the bitterness.
- 3Place the endives in a large pot and add the juice of 1 lemon, the butter, and the sugar.
- 4Cook them in the chicken stock for about 10-15 minutes.
- 5Remove the endives from the broth and let them drain.
- 6Lay the slices of ham on a work surface and place a cooked endive at the end of each slice.
- 7Roll the ham slices around the endives.
- 8Place the rolled endives in a baking dish and pour the béchamel over them. Sprinkle the grated Gruyère on top.
- 9Bake for about 20 minutes, until the cheese is nicely browned.
- 10Serve hot and enjoy.
