- 600 g water
- 2 star anise
- 1 cinnamon
- 0.5 lemon(s)
Instructions
- 1In a saucepan, pour in the water, sugar, lemon juice, anise, and cinnamon stick.
- 2Peel the pears and put them in the saucepan.
- 3Make a parchment paper lid with a hole in the center and place it over the saucepan.
- 4Cook at a simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 5Check the pears' doneness with a knife.
- 6Remove the saucepan from the heat and let cool at room temperature.
- 7Chill until ready to use.
- 8Poached pears can be used to make a Bourdaloue tart or Poires Belle-Hélène.
