About this dish
Millionaire's shortbread is a decadent three-layer British dessert. The base is a crispy, lightly sweet shortbread, which serves as the perfect foundation for the rich, smooth caramel layer. The final layer is a generous coating of chocolate, often dark chocolate, melted and smoothed for a glossy, flavorful finish. Sometimes a little salt is sprinkled over the chocolate to enhance the sweetness of the caramel. This cake is at once fudgy, crunchy, and sweet, ideal for a special occasion or an indulgent snack. Its perfect balance of flavors and textures makes it a must-have classic in many bakeries.
