About this dish

Tiramisu is an iconic Italian dessert whose name means "pick me up," a nod to its delightfully rich character. Made of alternating layers of ladyfingers soaked in strong coffee (sometimes mixed with a liqueur such as Marsala or Amaretto) and a smooth cream made from mascarpone, egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla, the whole thing is dusted with cocoa powder. The combination of the sweetness of the mascarpone cream with the bitterness of the coffee and cocoa offers a perfect balance in the mouth. With its texture both creamy and soft, and its deep flavors, tiramisu is a favorite among food lovers around the world. Although variations abound, every version keeps the essence of this dessert: a sweet delight that revives both spirit and palate.
