About this dish

The crab cake is a culinary specialty originating from the United States, particularly the Chesapeake Bay region. It is a patty made mainly of crab meat, mixed with various ingredients such as breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, mustard, and seasonings like celery, chives, and sometimes a dash of hot sauce. After shaping the mixture into patties, they are usually browned in a pan or baked until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Served hot, crab cakes are often accompanied by sauces such as remoulade or tartar sauce and a slice of lemon. They embody the fresh, delicate flavor of crab and are prized in seafood restaurants and at special events along the U.S. East Coast.
