- 170 g wheat flour
- 65 g unsalted butter
- 90 g sugar
- 120 ml milk
- 1 egg(s)
- 100 g chocolate chips
- 1 pinch(es) salt
- 1 pinch(es) baking soda
- 6 g baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- 1Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a bowl.
- 2Add the chocolate chips and mix.
- 3Set the dry ingredients aside.
- 4Crack the egg into another bowl.
- 5Add the sugar and whisk to lighten the mixture slightly.
- 6Incorporate the cooled melted butter and mix again.
- 7Add the milk and vanilla extract, then mix.
- 8Incorporate the dry ingredients in two additions, mixing between each to avoid lumps.
- 9Prepare paper liners in a muffin tin.
- 10Divide the batter among the liners, filling them three-quarters full.
- 11Sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top of the muffins.
- 12Preheat the oven to 200°C, and bake the muffins for 5 minutes.
- 13Lower the temperature to 175°C and continue baking for another 15 minutes.
- 14Check doneness: a knife blade should come out moist but clean.
