It consists of cooked, cooled macaroni pasta mixed with crunchy vegetables like celery, bell pepper, red onion, carrot, and finely chopped pickles. Chopped hard-boiled eggs are also added for more texture and flavor. Everything is coated in a creamy dressing made of mayonnaise, sour cream, pickle juice, Dijon mustard, vinegar, with a touch of sugar, salt, pepper, and fresh herbs like parsley. Originating from the United States, this salad has become a summer cuisine classic thanks to its simplicity, freshness, and ability to accompany a wide variety of main dishes. It is often prepared ahead of time to let the flavors develop.
